Fundraising at Ravensthorpe

Fundraising is an important part of our work at Ravensthorpe Junior School. We like to support our local area and, more widely, Britain and the rest of the world. Through fundraising, we are able to help those in need and make a positive impact in the lives of others.

The money we've raised so far...

Shoebox Appeal

Read below to find out about our shoeboxes and the money we raised in November. Thank you to the Wellbeing Council for leading this initiative.

Children in Need

In November, we raised £320 for Children In Need.

Hurricane Disaster

In July, we raised £265.00 to support those living in Grenada and Carriacou after the destruction and devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl.

Save the Children

In December, we raised £160.50 for Save the Children.

Earthquake Disasters

In October, our school raised lots of money to support countries affected by devastating earthquakes. Abu-Hurairah in Y6 organised the fundraising, asking if we could help support people affected by the disaster. Thank you to Abu and everyone for your support.

MacMillan Cancer Support

In September, our staff members raised £154 during their MacMillan Coffee Morning.

Easter

In April, Mr Rhodes and the School Council held an Easter Egg raffle. Our pupils purchased mini Easter treat bags and were automatically placed in the draw for some very large Easter Eggs! Unfortunately, Mr Rhodes didn't win an Easter Egg but, together with the School council, he sold over 700 mini Easter treat bags and raised over £360 for the school. Well done, Mr Rhodes and the School Council!

Friends of Ravensthorpe

One of our initiatives is called ‘Friends of Ravensthorpe’.

We hold fundraising events throughout the school year and rely on the support of parents, the community, staff and pupils to make these events successful.

The money raised at these events goes towards enhancing the time our children spend at Ravensthorpe CE (VC) Junior School and to improve our building and grounds.

Thank you!

We are extremely lucky and grateful to have built relationships with local businesses. They have been kind enough to provide donations to school to support us with our fundraising activities for our children.

 A big thank you to:

  • The Rotary Club of Mirfield for donating £100 which was used to purchase new toys and games for playtime
  • Mullaco in Dewsbury for donating boxes of Cadbury Crème Eggs which were used to raise funds for Attendance rewards
