SEND

All of our pupils receive Quality-First Teaching. Occasionally, some pupils will require additional support in order to be able to access the curriculum. We will always work with our pupils and their parents in order to ensure that we are able to provide individualised support packages so that they may achieve their full potential. If you have any concerns about your child's ability to access the curriculum, you should contact Mrs Lee (our SENDCo) as soon as possible. You can do this by calling, visiting or emailing the school office: office.ravensthorpejun@kirkleeseducation.uk

Kirklees Clusters

Kirklees have developed a new approach called cluster working. This is where mainstream schools work together in small groups or clusters to share expertise. This will give schools more flexibility to meet the needs of young people as well as having greater access to professionals such as Educational Psychologists and specialist outreach teams. Working in this way will help schools to support each other by sharing how to do things in the best way possible.

To do this, Kirklees are changing the way funding is provided to support young people with additional needs in a way which increases the number of those who may receive support. This means that more young people with additional needs can benefit from funding, not those solely with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
